3/8 LAST RADIATION

Six weeks folks. Six weeks of trecking 60 miles to SF to move in for a week, to get to UCSF for radiation. Tyler went from attending classes in person with friends to online schoolwork finished by noon. He was tired, he was frustrated and he also made new memories in a familiar city. Tyler grew up going to the city. Fisherman’s Wharf, the ferry, the family office, and now a place that included treatment.

His whole family and his Uncle Weaver (who flew in from Wisconsin) made an appearance on this day. Those who could, were dressed in onesie pajamas or Team Tyler gear— including his ESA Oakley, who came to almost every single treatment. He was able to say thank you and much-desired goodbyes to the machine, the treatment nurses, and the hallway leading up to the room. He rang the bell and celebrated.

There will be appointments coming, he is not done done at the hospital. But he is happy that labs aren’t every Tuesday, and he doesn’t have to get strapped in every morning at 10:15 am.

He finished the day with lunch with all of his favorite people, those who he thanks for their support and love. The family office has a known “lunch bunch” that Tyler appreciates, so they had a hurrah! lunch and gave cheers to this milestone in his treatment.
